Chase & Brittney - October 2nd

If you’re from “around here”, you may remember back in the beginning of October that there was a hurricane set to hit Virginia Beach.  I don’t think Hurricane Joaquin ever hit us head-on, but it certainly shook things up a bit!  It just so happened that I had a wedding scheduled for that Saturday….on the beach.  Not only were we expecting a ton of wind and rain, but the City of Virginia Beach mandated that all tents be disassembled.  Which meant that the gorgeous reception we had planned under a tent behind the Baja Sandbridge Restaurant….yeah that was all about to change.

It’s times like these that I find myself incredibly thankful for two things.  1) An amazingly laid-back couple who is planning this wedding for all the right reasons.  Not to have a big fancy wedding...but to be married and formally start their life together.  And 2) Hardworking vendors and assistants that jump in to make the day everything it can be, regardless of all the last minute changes and chaos.

We ended up having to move the entire day inside instead of having a ceremony on the beach and a tented reception at the restaurant.  And you know what?  The day was absolutely perfect.  Brittney and Chase were married, surrounded by so many of their closest friends and family.  They had an incredible dance party led by Richard from Astro Entertainment.  Brittney and her maids even showed up wearing rain boots and shower caps before the ceremony!  Everyone made the very best of the crazy weather situation we found ourselves in.  And best of all, all the rain and wind took a break until after the portraits were finished and everyone was inside dancing.

I loved every single second of working with Chase and Brittney.  I had met them at Joe & Ashley’s wedding back in June...Brittney & Ashley are sisters!  Getting to work with their sweet family for the second time in just a couple months was the icing on the cake.

I’m so happy for you Chase and Brittney!  Thank you for letting me play a part in you “Joaquin Down the Aisle”.
